If betting is causing problems for you or someone you care about, help is available. This page explains how to get it, what self-exclusion looks like, and the principles LineIQ tries to design around.
If you need help right now, call the National Council on Problem Gambling's confidential helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in English and Spanish.

Self-exclusion
Most US sportsbooks offer voluntary self-exclusion programs that block you from depositing or wagering for a set period (often 1 year, 5 years, or lifetime). Each state and each sportsbook handles enrollment differently.
The National Council on Problem Gambling maintains a list of state-by-state self-exclusion programs at ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/self-exclusion.
Signs to watch for
- Betting more than you can afford to lose, or chasing losses.
- Lying to people about how much or how often you bet.
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund bets.
- Skipping work, school, or family commitments to bet.
- Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when not betting.
- Trying to stop or cut back and not being able to.
If any of these resonate, calling 1-800-GAMBLER is a free, confidential first step.
What LineIQ does, and does not do
What we do
- Build the app to be informational, not promotional. The Goals feature exists to encourage discipline, not to drive bet volume.
- Show empty states honestly. When the model has no qualifying Gold Picks, we say so. We do not invent picks to fill a slot or to drive engagement.
- Avoid fake-urgency copy. No "lock of the day", no fire emojis, no countdown timers.
- Show closing line value transparently when it is unfavorable, not just when it is favorable.
- Never compensate the LineIQ AI based on user wager volume. The model has no incentive to push you toward more bets.
What we do not do
- Take wagers or hold funds. LineIQ is not a sportsbook.
- Process payments other than the LineIQ Pro subscription via Apple or Google.
- Sell your data to sportsbooks, marketers, or anyone else.
- Use loss-recovery psychology in our copy or design (no "win it back" framing).
- Operate in jurisdictions where sports analytics apps are prohibited; where local law restricts our content, we will geo-block accordingly.
